Jackson is an Artist, Director and Teacher working to make contemporary theatrical performance, screen content and podcasts often in collaboration with young people. In his role at Platform Arts he formed the infinity theatre ensemble and directed the 2020 video work, Anything and Everything. Recently Jackson developed The Dispute for Rising Festival 2021 along with 6 children and Bureau of Works. Currently he is working to develop Sound Aid, a project about the death of Rock and Roll with Scott Price (Back 2 Back Theatre) and One Night Only in collaboration with Rawcus. Jackson has made interventionist performances for a children’s dance competition, Rainbow Leprechaun, a live chat show featuring child hosts with Born in a Taxi and Due West Festival. He has co-created and Directed 2 seasons of the podcast series Kids Vs Art where children discuss and critique contemporary art. Jackson was Co-Director of Show & Tell, a short documentary made in collaboration with 10 children winning the award for best film in Education at KUKI children’s international film festival Berlin.
Jackson has made work in collaboration with major cultural institutions such as the Arts Centre Melbourne, Australian Centre for Contemporary Art, Melbourne Festival, National Gallery of Victoria, Inter-Film Berlin, Federation Square, Arts House, Performance Space, Perth Institute of Contemporary Art and Next Wave Festival. He is also a co-founding member of Field Theory, working as part of the collective since 2009 and has also been a core member of pvi collective (1999 to 2010).
