Platform Arts is excited to present ‘Spectral Archive’, a multidisciplinary group show by emerging artists Jasmine Low, Matthew Mifsud, Haiden Nettle & Dana Sinnamon.
‘Spectral Archive’ is a collaborative collision of new and analogue technology: a maze of bleeding sounds and visuals where the familiar and the uncanny meet, the figurative is abstracted and the abstract is intimate. The exhibition involves sound, video, painting & photography.

Jasmine Low is an emerging video and sound artist. Her work centres on the mechanical and chaotic, often tying abstract visuals and soundscapes to cement an immersive experience. Taking influence from the likes of Jon Rafman, Stan Brakhage, and Maya Deren, Jasmine’s abstract visuals are often presented as a haunting.
Matthew Mifsud is an emerging Melbourne based visual, sound and performance artist. His work revolves around the absurdity of the human form and how often its perception relates to arbitrary or artificial properties; constructed identity or the body as a structure.
His main influences include Ren Hang, Francis Bacon and David Altmejd. Mifsud embraces crude iconography, sensibilities and course aesthetics to create an experience of abject self reflection and catharsis.
Haiden Nettle is a multidisciplinary artist, working within the mediums of video, installation and design. Nettle works with outdated media and aesthetics to create spaces that subvert contemporary cultural forms and investigate the ethereal and mesmerising introspective experiences of sensory overload.
His work is an exploration of physical media and dead technologies, generative visuals, as well as collaborative and immersive audiovisual experiences. His work explores fears of the artificial, and immaterial world of media. Through his practice moments are captured and then abstracted to recontextualize the original imagery in a form that actualises and communicates his perspective.
Dana Sinnamon is an emerging avant-garde artist working predominantly in the field of video and installation. Her practice centres on documenting shifting presences and liminal spaces through abstract use of analogue technology, in turn dissecting dead media.
She takes influence from early experimental video art pioneers including Marie Menken, Jonas Mekas and Stan Brakhage. Sinnamon describes her work as poetry in video form and as an intimate amalgamation of light, movement and feeling.
