Join us for a captivating and open exploration of water's influence on expanded artistic practice at the WATER: A Field-Trip Conversation symposium, hosted at Deakin University.

This unique event promises a blend of casual conversations and critical discussions, creating an engaging space for participants to unravel the multifaceted relationship between water and artistic expression.

WATER: A Field Trip Conversation is set to be an afternoon filled with insightful exchanges. The sessions are designed to immerse attendees in the intersection between art and science, looking at water and its impact on various artistic disciplines, as well as its wider implications on climate activism, First Nations sovereignty, ecology, and research.

The agenda features distinguished speakers, including Kiri Tawhai, Vicky Hallett, Elena Betros Lopez, and The No Thru Road Collective, made up of Dr. Jane Bartier, Sylvia Maseyk, and Dr. Jenny Murray-Jones (Yorta Yorta/Baraparapa). All sessions will be artist-led, conversational, and open to discussion and questions from attendees.

There will be time for conversation, and light catering provided, where attendees can engage in casual conversation, networking, and further exploration of the symposium themes.

The symposium concludes with a wrap-up session, where the day's discussions will be summarized, offering attendees a chance to reflect on the insights gained.
