Penne is an arts producer, writer and researcher interested in agentive performance-making, micro-histories and nonhuman knowledge production. Working across dialogic art processes, Penne is inspired by mythology and border settings as a space of reimagining and inclusive community building. Drawing on anthropological frameworks, her creative practice is a critical exploration of encounter and cultural subjectivities against historical backdrops.
Penne’s professional background spans theatre, film and radio production and she has 15 years’ experience working in the arts as a producer, program facilitator, production manager and events coordinator. Penne has an Adv, Dip. of Screen Production from RMIT and has worked as a producer for Multicultural Arts Victoria and Youthworx Media, co-devising and delivering cultural festivals and creative media projects both nationally and internationally.
Penne began her career in the arts in theatre and film and has also worked as a media educator for young people. She recently produced the youth devised live/digital performance of Anything & Everything with infinity ensemble at ACMI as part of RISING festival and continues to work with infinity as they devise and develop new work. Penne advocates for access and equity in the arts and her work is underpinned by self-determined methodologies, respect, and environmental, social, and interspecies justice.
