EXPRESSION OF INTEREST
2022-23 GALLERY PROGRAM
EOIS ARE NOW CLOSED
If you have any questions about the spaces or equipment, please contact Amber Smith at curator@platformarts.org.au.
PLATFORM is seeking proposals from curators, artists, and writers – whether solo or as part of a collective – to present a project at PLATFORM as part of our 2022-23 creative program.
In 2022, we are seeking curatorial projects in Gallery Two for the following slots:
April 4 - May 27 2022
June 6 - July 29 2022
We also welcome applications for either gallery in 2023.
PLATFORM galleries are open to artists of any age and career stage. We champion extended, experimental, emergent, and interdisciplinary practices, and we encourage those wanting to explore or test an idea to apply. We're looking for individuals and groups that are engaged and passionate about the arts, and who are interested in being actively involved throughout the project. The exhibition or project should connect to contemporary discourse, and answer to its regional context.
Exhibition spaces include:
PLATFORM Gallery One, located downstairs, a conventional gallery space which can be used across practices for a professional presentation. All of our spaces are fully customisable and feature various levels of infrastructure, lighting and equipment.
PLATFORM Gallery Two, located upstairs, a non-conventional gallery space that lends itself to group curatorial projects, multidisciplinary presentations, performance-based and durational practice. It also includes a hanging rail and two moveable walls. There are two small, wall-mounted tv screens (62cm h x 108cm w / 124cm diagonally) with media players available.
We have a range of technical equipment and plinths that are available for use in either space.
Successful artists will have access to in-kind support and, if they are emerging or early-career, mentorship from PLATFORM's Curator Amber Smith. Individuals and groups wishing to mount an independently-run program or presentation are offered in-kind, venue, marketing, event staffing and technical support. If you require specific in-kind support or have access needs, we are happy to discuss your needs upon application.
PLATFORM is open to proposals from local, national and international makers from any creative field. We seek to provide an inclusive and diverse arts space; individuals of all backgrounds, experiences and skill sets are encouraged to apply. We strongly encourage applications from First Nations and culturally diverse peoples, and people with differing access needs.
