Join exhibiting artist Lachlan Stonehouse in Gallery One for a workshop in collage and assemblage. Bring your own found or recycled materials, and learn new ways to connect, transform and unite images and objects.
Stonehouse's workshop will take you through the essential components of collage, touching on the use of color, texture, and painterly surfaces. Participants will learn to use mundane paper scraps or discarded wood offcuts to create dense surfaces and explore the freedom and energy within the collage process. Learn to create with spontaneity, layer, construct and execute at this assemblage workshop.
Tickets are $5, open to all ages. Participants under 18 must be comfortable working independently, led by an artist.
This workshop is running concurrently with Lachlan’s exhibition reconfigurations.
Lachlan is a Melbourne-based artist, originally from St Helens In Tasmania, working primarily with textiles, the family archive and collecting things.
