The all-access exhibition by internationally published music photographer, and Geelong local legend, Lucinda Goodwin, is a timestamp of a 13-year catalogue of works, offering attendees an exclusive inside look into Goodwin’s catalogue, showcasing her growing collection of iconic imagery from the last decade.

The collection features not only live music works, but also includes several personal projects, including Mixed media collage works, traditional film processes, including 35mm, medium format and Polaroid, and Music From The Burbs – a video series born during COVID which saw her record stripped-back versions of local artists songs in their homes.

Bringing the vibrantly plastered walls to life, the closing event will include live performances from fellow Geelong music scene stars, acoustic artist Alister Turrill, keys wizard, Bella Deer, and sibling powerhouses, Lash 78.

It’s the last chance to get your hands on some Australian music history across her artwork sales and her self-published zine, Retrospect 2022.

For sales and enquiries, please contact curator@platformarts.org.au.

  • Lucinda Goodwin has been practicing in the live music industry since 2010. Starting as a fresh 18-year-old at Falls Festival in the crowd to working with some of the biggest names in the business.

With an impressive list of accolades to her name including featured artist at the “Number one | Gudinski” Ballarat Foto Biennale Core Program (2022), published artist in the publication ‘2019 A Year Before Lockdown” (2020), Moshcam Photography Awards (2018), and hosting previous solo exhibitions, ‘Encore’ (2017) and ‘Patron to Pit’ (2015).

Her work is described as vibrant, vivid, and crisp, with a grunge and grittiness that captures the band rooms and music venue institutions that serve as the background to so much of her work.

Goodwin effortlessly captures the pure emotion, energy and sweat of a live show in its entirety, the energy pouring out of the work she produces, so much so, you can almost feel it!

Throughout the decade long journey Goodwin has worked both in her home town and beyond, sporting a list of clients such as Rob Thomas, Katy Perry, Sum41, The Offspring, Boy & Bear, Seaforth, Bugs, Gang Of Youths and capturing events such as Falls Festival, Bluesfest, Splendour in the Grass, Queenscliff Music Festival, and The ARIA Awards.

Her affiliation with her home town of Geelong has been unwavering throughout the years, a sense of local community a consistent theme within her work. Goodwin has continued to work closely with local musicians both established and upcoming over the years to document and celebrate their achievements, a part of her practice she holds in high regard.
