Revealed from inside the notebooks is a cast of characters.
The characters mingle within the room, locked in a private narrative.
A confessional piece intertwined with notions of split-screen image of the self, identity dressing, sexuality, themes of love, loss and transformation.
Explored within these characters are the private and public acts of delving into the self “acting in and acting out.” With a thirst for life she rips and tears old clothing into rags for a cast to come alive.
Teasing for your affection. With such theatrics, opens up an umbrella of superstition.

Tara Denny’s expressive and visceral art is one of exposure, revealing and concealing states of heightened emotion. Tara’s work draws on themes of love, desire, loss and transformation of the self. Her work looks inwards and unravelling the constructs of womanhood via self exploration through a sculptural based practice.
