Katie Sfetkidis is a multidisciplinary artist based in Naarm. Her practice investigates an ongoing interest into feminist and political histories and their impact on the contemporary lives of women.

Through her work, Katie explores the role of the artist in public life, often working outside traditional art institutions. In 2020 she was appointed the Feminist Emissary at the Queen Victoria Women’s Centre where she created, the Women’s COVID-19 Time Capsule. Other notable works include: The Feminist Poster Project (2020-2021); Dear Minister (2019) and The Mayor Project (2018). Katie has held solo exhibitions at: Abbotsford Convent, Kings Artist Run Initiative and Trocadero Art Space and participated in many group exhibitions, festivals and events including “The Feminist Colour-In” curated by Kim Donaldson and Katve-Kaisa Konturrai as part of ACCA’s Unfinished Business: Perspectives on Art and Feminism.

Alongside he solo practice, Katie also has an extensive career as collaborator in theatre and performance primarily as a lighting designer. She has worked widely across the sector with companies & artists including: Joel Bray Dance, Luke George, Aphids, Chunky Move, Malthouse Theatre, Melbourne Theatre Company and Little Ones Theatre.
