KAITLYN CHURCH
Kaitlyn Church is a Melbourne-based photographic artist.
Her practice focuses on documenting the ever-changing landscape of rural and regional Australia. She is primarily interested in creating long-form new documentary photographic work. Kaitlyn graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Photography from Photography Studies College (PSC), where she majored in Photojournalism. In 2021 she completed her Masters of Arts, also at PSC. She was supervised by Dr Kristian Haggblom and mentored by Jessie Boylan (AUS) and Regine Peterson (GER). Her graduate show Fordtown, exhibited at Platform Arts in 2021 explored the social ramifications of the closure of the Geelong Ford Factory.
As part of the LAB Studio Artist stream, Kaitlyn will be expanding on her Geelong-based project Fordtown. She plans to continue and extend the community collaborations initiated in the project's early stages. As part of this, she will conduct and film interviews with experts and former factory workers, develop a detailed photobook and photograph objects relevant to Ford.
PROJECTS
Former Ford factory workers are invited to reconnect and view Kaitlyn Church’s Fordtown exhibtion.
