LAUREN DUNN
LAUREN DUNN
Lauren Dunn works predominantly with photography but also uses sculpture, neon and video in her practice as a means of twisting the codes and conventions of our relationship to photography.
Her practice is driven by experimentation, as well as open and ongoing dialogue and critical evaluation with peers and mentors. Living and practising on Wurundjeri Country in Melbourne, Lauren is also a sessional lecturer at RMIT School of Architecture and Urban Design. She is the founder of Melbourne-based artist collective imagecollective.com.au, and has participated in a number of group and solo exhibitions locally and internationally.
As part of the 2022 LAB Digital Residency, Lauren researched and developed a project titled A Cyborg Manifesto in honour of Donna Haraway’s essay of the same name. This essay lubricated her ways of thinking about our relationship to technology (specifically the camera) and its impact on feminism, socialism and materialism.
