LINNET HUNTER
Linnet Hunter is a spoken word poet living, working and writing from Birregurra on Gulidjan Country. Her poetry explores the inner world of emotional narratives beneath the surface, their moods enhanced by the musical counterpoint of an autoharp.
Linnet’s poems are brief, mesmerising and memorable and their presentation unique. Listeners say the experience is eloquent, evocative and exquisite -- revelatory, each piece a heartfelt note that lingers long after the performance.
Linnet published her second poetry collection, capture & flight, in 2021 and is also the co-author and publisher of a writer’s journal: seeds to sow inspiration. She sees herself as a late bloomer, having written poems since childhood but only sharing them after decades of keeping her writing secret. This came about as a result of encouragement and curiosity from a friend and fellow artist, so supporting other poets is her way of expressing gratitude for the connection and joy she has received when performing.
