Join Annie Mullen-Walsh and dive into the world of ekphrastic poems, responding to exhibitions hosted at Platform Arts.
Ekphrastic poetry allows us to create using inspiration from the art around us and delve into new themes we may not have explored before. Annie will help build participants’ understanding of key literary techniques including metaphor, imagery, repetition and juxtaposition; allowing & encouraging them to use these in their own work as well as analyse these in others’ work.
No prior poetry knowledge is needed, just an open mind! The workshop will go for an hour and half, and includes a 20 minute intermission break with tea and light snacks provided.
Please note, this session is for adults.
