SAMANTHA TAYLOR
Samantha Taylor is a Singaporean-Australian artist, arts worker and Mother. Drawing from subjective experience, her research-based practice examines identity politics, trauma and intergenerational relations. Working in text, minimalist painting, installation and performative photography, Samantha surveys her role within immediate environments—the domestic space and regional suburbia. Samantha completed a Bachelor of Design Arts (Visual Art) through Lasalle College International Melbourne (2020), and a First-Class Honours degree in Creative Arts from Deakin University (2021). She has exhibited across Geelong, Melbourne and internationally in Singapore.
In 2021, Samantha was selected for the inaugural artist-led exchange and digital residency between Platform Arts, Geelong and Laselle College of the Arts, Singapore. In the same year, she co-founded the virtual platform @GGConnected_ through her position as digital trainee with Geelong Gallery. Toward the end of 2022, she completed a 12-week mentorship program with Testing Grounds, Melbourne.
