Neighbourhood is a collaborative exploration that delves deep into the intricate tapestry of Place, unraveling its profound meaning and unveiling its captivating aesthetics.
Each artist brings forth their unique interpretation of Neighbourhood, an interpretation that materializes through their distinct artistic practices.
This emerging, artist-run collective is on a mission to make its mark, advocating for an artist-centric framework that celebrates their artistic research and practices rooted in Geelong and the broader western region. Central to their collective inquiry is a compelling question: What truly defines a Neighbourhood?
Through photography, sculpture, installation, and painting, each artist embarks on a journey of discovery, surveying their immediate environments with an acute sense of curiosity and introspection.
This interdisciplinary group exhibition at Platform Arts extends the very definition of Neighbourhood beyond the confines of geography.
Neighbourhood is generously supported by Platform Arts, with the collective emerging from the 2023 Neighbourhood LAB pilot program, in collaboration with the Rogue Academy.
